About the lecture
The lecture introduces the organisation and everyday routines of archaeological research on the Czech concession at Abusir. It also discusses the recent discovery of the tomb of Ankhires, inspector of royal palace hairdressers in the mid-Fifth Dynasty, around 2500 BCE. His tomb, decorated with coloured reliefs, was discovered in 2016 in the cemetery of priests and officials at South Abusir.
Mgr. et Mgr. Veronika Dulíková, PhD., is a researcher at the Czech Institute of Egyptology, Faculty of Arts, Charles University. Since 2010, she has regularly participated in excavations on the Czech concession in Egypt. She studies Old Kingdom history, archaeology, society, material culture and administration. At the time of the lecture, she was working with cybernetics specialists on an interdisciplinary project analysing complex networks in ancient Egypt.
