From 24 September 2020 to 17 January 2021, the historical purpose-built premises of the East Slovak Museum in Košice, at Námestie Maratónu mieru 2, will host the exhibition ‘Between Prague and Cairo – 100 Years of Czech Egyptology’. In the summer semester of 1919, Associate Professor František Lexa gave the first Egyptology lectures at Charles University in Prague. Since then, Czech researchers and Egyptologists have successfully participated in expeditions and research in Egypt, contributing to several major discoveries. This exhibition presents their greatest achievements and discoveries and is now arriving in Slovakia from Czechia.
