Piloting the SHAPE learning programme

Four September sessions in Spišská Nová Ves connect dialogue, civic engagement, critical thinking and a shared final reflection.

In September 2026, CEREHIS is piloting the SHAPE learning programme in cooperation with the Spiš Cultural Centre and Library in Spišská Nová Ves. The programme consists of four connected sessions developing seniors’ civic and intercultural competences.

Part 12 September 2026

Lesson 1. Dialogue and cooperation in diversity

The first session focused on respectful dialogue, listening to one another and cooperation in a diverse group. Participants worked with model situations, conversation questions and digital activities using QR codes.

Lesson 2. Civic engagement and capacity to act

The second lesson explored ways of taking an active role in community life. Participants discussed concrete situations in small groups and reflected together on how they can help shape their surroundings through their own actions.

Part 316 September 2026

Lesson 3. Critical thinking and critical literacy

The third session focused on evaluating information critically, distinguishing trustworthy sources and checking claims. The activities encouraged participants to ask questions, build arguments and make informed decisions in everyday life.

Part 430 September 2026

Lesson 4. Final learning session

The final session will take place on 30 September 2026. Participants will connect the themes of the previous lessons, evaluate their experience of the pilot and identify ways to use what they have learned in their future community and civic life.
